The founding story
Vend started with a simple idea: combine the technology and the operations under one company so the incentives finally line up with the property owner.
The first attempt was to partner with legacy operators and bring them the tech. They weren't interested. Their business model depends on billable hours and manual processes. Automating those away meant automating away their margin.
So Vend went direct. Instead of selling software to operators, Vend became the operator. The company built the AI platform, hired the operations team, and started replacing the legacy model property by property.
